Fresh Fun for Spring

Life has been exciting and busy these last few months. As many of you know we started off 2013 filming a new series for Treehouse TV. We’re thrilled to announce that the first three episodes started airing earlier this week! You can catch the videos daily at the end of some of Treehouse’s regularly scheduled programming. Three more new episodes will debut next week! Watch for the first airings of these at the following times:

Outer Space: April 22, 2013 – 7:23pm (EDT)
Helping Hands: April 25, 2013 – 6:23pm (EDT)
Muscles: April 26, 2013 – 6:53pm (EDT)

Bobs & LoLo on Treehouse TV

Bobs & LoLo’s new show on Treehouse TV!

We are also excited that Earth Day 2013 is just around the corner. Earth Day is a celebration of all the things we do in our daily lives to help nurture our beautiful planet, and it generally turns into a fabulous weekend of musical adventures for us too! We actually arrived on Vancouver Island yesterday and will begin a small mid-island tour tomorrow.

Our first stop is the Tidemark Theatre in Campbell River (April 19) followed by the ADSS Auditorium in Port Alberni (April 21) and a day of community fun in Bamfield to wrap things up on Monday, April 22. Full details about all of these performances can be found on our Events Calendar!

A few more fun comments from us about Earth Day…

Our final announcement is about the Great Kids’ CBC Song Search that launched yesterday. We are thrilled to have one of our songs included in the amazing catalogue of featured Canadian writers/performers! The first round is all in your hands – the listeners. Please consider casting a vote for our song! You can vote daily until May 8. As a bonus, every time you vote you will be entered into a draw for some great prizes including a grand prize trip for your family to the Kids’ CBC Days in Toronto this summer (airfare, hotel & spending money included). Holiday Countdown

It’s a jingle, jangle, holly, jolly, festive time of year! Our favourite holiday season is here although if you’ve been in the malls or watching TV recently, it almost feels like the season has been upon us for weeks!

In our homes, December 1st always signals the start of the countdown for Santa’s arrival. Today we are decorating our trees, putting up our lights, playing our favourite holiday songs and planning out all the tasty treats we’ll be enjoying with family and friends over the next few weeks.

As an extra special celebration this year, we have organized a Bobs & LoLo Holiday Countdown (like an advent calendar) where we will be giving away fun prizes everyday until December 24, 2012. The main festivities will be taking place on our Facebook page, but we’ll also be sharing some of the giveaways on Twitter.

Prize announcements will be posted daily at 12pm (PST). For contests, you will have until Midnight (PST) on the same day to cast your entry. Winner(s) for each prize category will be announced sometime the following day. Good luck and have fun!

Petting Dinosaurs!

Today we pet a dinosaur. Yup. A dinosaur!! In fact, it was a baby t-rex from Erth’s Dinosaur Petting Zoo, and it was probably one of the coolest things we’ve ever done. The experience may just inspire our first dinosaur song!

It goes without saying that we are having an amazing time at the Okanagan Children’s Festival in Penticton, BC. Besides meeting dinosaurs we have also performed a couple of action packed shows (one more tomorrow!), and we are meeting tons of great families, artists and festival volunteers at the event. Hope you enjoy the vid of our new ‘friend’, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

It has been a whirlwind few months with lots of shows, road trips, fun side projects and LoLo’s little appendix fiasco. ;) We’ve been enjoying some sunny days here on the west coast and can hardly wait for summer. What do you most look forward to with the longer days and sunshine-y weather?

Name That Tune!

We are thrilled to announce that our latest release – Connecting the Dots – has been nominated for a 2012 Juno Award for Children’s Album of the Year! The Juno festivities will be held in Ottawa on March 26 – April 1. We hope to be able to attend the awards ceremony, and we will be sure to post some videos and pics from the trip here and on Facebook!

In the meantime, we thought it would be fun to host a musical contest to giveaway some CDs, Connecting the Dots t-shirts and stickers in celebration of our nomination. Check out the video below for all the details!

Contest Summary

1. Listen to the ‘amazing’ medley of songs performed in the video.
2. Write down the titles of the three songs featured.

Kiddie Fair Fun!

Last weekend we spent a day in New Westminster, BC at the Royal City Kids Fair. The event was hosted at the Fraser River Discovery Centre which is an education centre featuring programs about our fave fish – the Great White Sturgeon! Here’s a peek at the fun…

Happy 2012!

When we came to the realization that we only published 7 blog posts in 2011 (only seven!?!), we knew something had to change.

After years of struggling to find time to write on our blog, we have finally attempted a video post! We hope to do regular updates via video and as our editing skills improve, we look forward to sharing vids and pics from the road. We’d also love to find a way to share some of the amazing artwork and videos that you send us. If you have any other ideas for our blog, please send them along…we’d love to hear from you!
